Who We Are

Girls on the Path of Change (GPC) is an international, independent, and youth-led organization dedicated to empowering girls who have been denied access to education, especially in Afghanistan. Through online digital classrooms, community building, advocacy campaigns, and storytelling, we provide girls with quality education, amplify their voices, and support their right to a brighter future. Driven by compassion, our volunteers work to ensure every girl has the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive.
GPC offers a variety of programs, including GPC Academy—the education-focused branch of the organization; Youth on the Path of Change (YPC), which engages a broader community in supporting our mission; and the Ambassadors Program, which represents GPC across different countries alongside several specialized committees.

Our impact

Since its inception, GPC has provided free online education to thousands of Afghan girls deprived of access to school and university across Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan. Our courses have consistently offered a safe and supportive psychological space for these students. Our work has garnered recognition from esteemed organizations and International media.
In addition to educating students, GPC has inspired volunteer educators worldwide, each profoundly impacted by their experience teaching our students. Our mission goes beyond the classroom. To further support and motivate our students, we have organized webinars with professionals in journalism, photography, writing, psychology, human rights activism, and more.

In 2023, we hosted an in-person seminar and exhibition on “The Importance of Reading Books” in Ghazi, Kabul, Balkh, Baghlan, Bamyan, Kunduz, Ghor, and Takhar, benefiting 200 girls who left with renewed inspiration to read and continue their studies. We have shared our students' stories on social media and with international organizations. Our founder has conducted interviews with Afghan girls to better understand their personal experiences and challenges.
Additionally, GPC, in collaboration with two other organizations, coordinated an open letter from Afghan girls to world leaders after the second anniversary of school closures. Titled “2 Years of Darkness,” the letter addressed the issue of hate in Muslim countries. GPC has also spearheaded campaigns against gender apartheid, gathered video messages from young girls to inspire their peers in Afghanistan, and launched a petition advocating for Afghan girls' rights.
Through GPC’s educational opportunities, we have supported both girls and boys on their path to university by providing preparatory work and financial assistance. For instance, one of our Academy students, Yalda, received a fully funded scholarship to a university in Malaysia, with her travel expenses covered by GPC’s founder and supporters.
GPC is supported by international ambassadors who are leading our fundraising efforts, ensuring Afghan girls know they are not alone nor left behind. GPC continues to inspire young changemakers worldwide to believe they can create initiatives and movements for a more just world.
